Trustworthy, Planting and Grafting Lessons and Family

We had a wonderful visit from Trish's folks this past weekend.  It is wonderful to be given such support in family and farm from our parents.  Some pictures below are our newest farm addition, Trustworthy, the donkey.  God has blessed us with gentle animals!  Also some family fun, farm beautification and grafting lessons.  Enjoy!

Farm Beautification and a new member to the farm...

It is a beautiful crisp day and we are enjoying the company, design and aid of a great horticulturist, landscape designer and grafter- but most of all, my Dad!  He is planning some lovely varieties of rare and beautiful trees on the farm which we hope will add to your enjoyment as your visits.

We will try to post some photos next week of present and future trees as well as our newest farm member.  What is it, you ask?  You'll have to come back and see!

Have a wonderful weekend.  A big thank you to all those who ordered this week.  We hope you enjoy your chicken!

Here's another great delivery vehicle we'd love! :)

So, tonight at supper...

Eric (who is dealing with wisdom tooth pain): Oh, this is so good, if it (his tooth) didn't hurt so much I'd east myself silly.
Nahum (our four year old) in response:  Then you'd be a canabalist!

PS- Wonder why our four year old knows about canabalists?   John G. Paton's autobiography is a family favorite! :)

Aren't you glad our chickens never get this ride!

Meet our Farm Critters, New and Old!

Here are Priscilla & Aquila. Our newest farm critters.  They sure are cute and we thank the Lord for them. :)

Boaz is our Great Pyrenees.  He is a wonderful helper and great fun to watch in his puppyhood.

Then there are the layer hens and our ever vigilant rooster, Mr. Gray.

Yes, we are blessed, indeed!

Chicken is available

Just a note to let you all know we do have some chicken available, including parts and pieces.  Most is USDA processed, while all of our farm processed birds are currently sold-out.

If you are a member of the Millsap Farms mailing list and live in Springfield, we are offering a special free home delivery on Saturdays.  If you don't know the good folks at Millsap Farm yet, be sure to check them out.  The produce is great and so are the people!  We're looking forward to Summer CSA season and all the yummy things! Eric had the pleasure of interning on the farm and we think a lot of them!  You can see them here: http://millsapfarms.wordpress.com/
